That’s what Roy Ayers said deep in the Seventies. Thirty Years later a guy called Dapayk somewhere in Berlin takes a rest – thinking about what’s up around, what’s next thing to do, to fulfil, at last to reflect. <br><br> In some past time everything was in place but nowadays it’s work and trade. Not just about what you think what’s right but more like everything one can do, no matter what you feel - just because you’re in! And in the end you gonna have to, just because it’s so close to you and continuously working – with or without you. So simply close your eyes and give in. Everybody takes a rest sometimes for it’s nicest to take it slow and some things are best to be confronted with their own structure. There’s some evil tone in all that ever so smooth that we even love it - taking it straight up to fine-arts excitement. It’s all about to stay in best shape then. We all got plans and then it’s just about to keep your line - right on to daytime when Technique’s turned down but cutie’s still same demanding. And poses you usually love so much do the strike even more – and not just to you now.<br> So some instance right close to you seems to have quite different but steady views about what to do, where to go, which way to move, who to have.. and again about that tricky excitement. <br><br> Will it all work one day and make sense in the whole? It’s up to you – and just what you make it. That’s what the fate is.. Sounds pathetic?? We don’t know.<br> Bine herself is kicking those nasty things to another functional dimension far away from the blues just by sound and pressure – just to show how it can be done. <br> And anyway..: with that bass you’ll gonna have the cheerleaders..! In diesem Sinne: Buona Notte! <br><br> <b>DE:BUG 12/2005</b><br> "Dapayk kann ja ganz schön strange werden, das wissen wir nicht erst nach seinem Karloff Release, aber für Friends of Tomorrow lässt er noch mal die merkwürdigsten Ideen ins Freie. "Close your Eyes" klingt z. Bsp. so, als hätte er eine Überdosis prähistorischen Jazz wie eine Droge genommen und das in einen Track gebaut, der von einer grossen Kirmes träumt, die Musik macht. Ach, und dabei ist das natürlich soulig und hyperaktiv zugleich. "Schmuf" ist ein Track, der nach kleinen Männchen klingt, die an der Uhr gedreht haben und irgendwo im Blutkreislauf nach der neusten Maschine forschen, und mit "Nasty Things" möchte er wohl den skurileren Jay Haze Tracks den Rang als Vocoder-Popstar wegnehmen. Und das könnte klappen." Bleed ***** <br><br> <b>DE BUG 01.2006</b><br> “Freak! Muss wieder und wieder zugeben, dass Tracks von Dapayk einfach so lässig grooven können, dabei aber dennoch immer so verkrabbelt nervös und zerzaust wirken, dass vermutlich genau zwischen diesen beiden Extremen das entsteht was man an den Tracks immer wieder so mag. Irgendwie schafft er es immer die Soundästhetik so von Unwahrscheinlichkeiten durchziehen zu lassen, dass man das Gefühl hat er würde völlig atemlos an diese Tracks rangehen, auch wenn er überhaupt nicht so aussieht. Fast noch einen Hauch trackiger als die Platten davor, Frankie Rec. mal eben links überholt, und dabei alles andere als trocken. Verstehen wir uns? Eine extreme Platte die direkt ans Herz wächst mit einem Bonusmix von Labelcheffin Bine, die dem ganzen noch eine Prise klappernden Knochenfunks hinzufügt. bleed ••••• ” <br><br> <b>FUNK'D'VOID (Lars Sandberg)</b><br> “Loved his LP with his partner, this shows the quality is still strong as hell as he goes solo for this release.
